Sweet Potato (Japanese) / 日本番薯 +/-500g
Japanese sweet potatoes have a deep pinkish purple skin and whitish flesh that turns golden when baked. It is sweeter than normal sweet potato. Best steamed or baked whole with skin on and served piping hot. They do not require any seasoning and are deliciously sweet and fibreless.
Store the sweet potato in a dry and cool area. An area like the pantry. Not the refrigerator as that will encourage sprouting. Do not wash the potato before storing as moisture left on the potato could lead to rotting. Instead, clean any dirt with a dry cloth.
Do not store the potato near other vegetables as it could cause others to ripen more quickly than preferred. Keep the potato in a paper bag or a basket.
